Your Symptoms Are Communication

Let’s talk about your symptoms

Our bodies constantly work to keep us alive and functioning, manage thousands of processes, and allow us to think, feel, and make memories. We don't give our bodies enough credit for the amount of work they do without us even realizing it! While we might not always notice these everyday parts of being alive, we're likely well aware of irritating symptoms. We often hyper-fixate on the things we wish would change. (Hint: They can change if we find the right kinds of tools)

If you are reading this feeling like you have given up on your body, my job is to change your mind and remind you that your body wants to heal, we just need to give you the right support.

If you were to sit down and list all the symptoms you feel, you might find that it looks like your body is working against you. Let’s be real, when you feel bad, it feels like your body wants you to be miserable. However, bring in the golden perspective: Your body will find any way to communicate that something is imbalanced and needs support. This communication often shows up as uncomfortable symptoms.

Some common examples of this are:

  • Difficult periods

  • Skin conditions like acne, eczema, rashes, hives

  • Digestive problems

  • Inability to lose weight

  • Exhaustion

  • Irritability

…And so much more. The issue is that these symptoms feel out of your control. Many people, including myself at one point, accept these symptoms as their reality, succumb to them, and let them control their lives.

But before you decide that this is what your life looks like, what if… we listened to these queues and did something about it? Believe it or not, your body wants you to feel comfortable and healthy, and there are many ways to help bring your body back into balance.

Let's change your mindset and see your symptoms as communication.

Instead of the dreadful "I hate that I always get ___ (symptom), try: "What is ___ (symptom) telling me? Symptoms can arise for a multitude of reasons, but a lot of common ones are:

  • Inflammation in the body

  • Nutrient deficiencies

  • Dehydration

  • Environmental pollutants

  • Additives, preservatives, processed foods

  • Allergies, food sensitivities

  • High stress

  • Lack of balance in diet

  • Lifestyle imbalance, sleep deprivation, lack of movement

Could you imagine if you could eradicate your symptoms for good just by working with your body?! How much better or easier could life get for you? By addressing your symptoms through diet and lifestyle, you can find relief at a deeper level.
